StockSense is designed to make stock market information and investing concepts easier to understand. This policy applies to information processed through StockSense and the services available through the platform.
Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use StockSense. You may use certain public portions of the platform without creating an account. Other features require authentication.

- Account information such as your name, email address, profile image, and account identifier when provided through our authentication service.

- Technical information that may be generated when you access the platform, such as device, browser, network, security, and diagnostic information.
- Information you provide when contacting StockSense for support or other enquiries.
StockSense does not ask users to provide their online banking credentials, brokerage account passwords, or other credentials used to access financial institutions.

We use information to operate, secure, maintain, and improve StockSense and to provide the features users request.
This may include using information to:
- Create and maintain authenticated user experiences.
- Associate watchlists, portfolios, learning activity, and other saved information with the correct account.

- Respond to user questions through Signal and other AI-supported features.

Authentication
StockSense uses Clerk to provide authentication and account management services. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, authentication may also involve a third-party identity provider such as Google.
When you authenticate, StockSense may receive account information made available through Clerk, such as your name, email address, profile image, and a unique account identifier.
Your password or credentials for a third-party sign-in provider are handled by the relevant authentication provider. StockSense does not receive your Google password when you use Google sign-in.
Clerk processes information under its own terms and privacy practices. You should review those practices if you would like more information about how authentication data is handled.
Account and Investment Data
StockSense may allow authenticated users to save information such as watchlisted securities and portfolio holdings.
Portfolio information may include a security or ticker symbol, the number of shares entered by the user, a purchase price, and information calculated from those values using available market data.
Portfolio features are provided for research, tracking, and educational purposes. StockSense is not a bank, broker, investment adviser, or securities custodian. Entering a holding into StockSense does not establish or verify ownership of that security.
Users should avoid entering sensitive information that StockSense does not request, including bank account numbers, card details, brokerage passwords, or government-issued identification numbers.
AI-Powered Features
StockSense includes AI-powered functionality intended to help users understand financial information, market data, companies, investing concepts, and information available through the platform.
Information you submit to an AI feature may be processed as necessary to generate a response and operate that feature. Users should not submit passwords, financial account credentials, confidential personal information, or other highly sensitive information through AI prompts.
AI-generated responses may contain errors, omissions, or outdated interpretations. They should be treated as informational and educational material and independently verified before being relied upon for financial decisions.
Third-Party Services
StockSense relies on third-party technology and information providers to operate parts of the platform.
These may include:
- Clerk for authentication and account management.
- Google where a user chooses Google as an authentication provider.
- Market-data sources and supporting tools, including information made available through GSE Inc. and financegy.
- Hosting, infrastructure, security, and other technical service providers used to operate the StockSense platform.
Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. StockSense is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that you access outside the StockSense platform.
How Information Is Shared
StockSense does not sell personal information to advertisers.
Information may be shared with service providers where reasonably necessary to operate, authenticate, secure, host, maintain, or support the platform.
We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid request from an authorized public authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights, property, or safety of StockSense, its users, or others.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide StockSense, maintain user accounts and saved features, meet legitimate operational and security requirements, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose and the systems through which they are processed.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed through StockSense. Authentication is handled through Clerk rather than by StockSense directly storing user passwords.
No online system can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their authentication accounts and devices and should notify us if they believe their StockSense account has been accessed without authorization.
Your Choices
Depending on the features available to your account, you may be able to update certain profile information or remove saved information directly through StockSense or through the authentication interface provided by Clerk.
You may also contact us to ask questions about information associated with your StockSense account or to request assistance with an account or privacy-related matter.
Children's Privacy
StockSense is a financial education and market research platform and is not specifically directed to young children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children in circumstances where parental or guardian consent would be required by applicable law.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to StockSense inappropriately, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as StockSense changes, new features are introduced, service providers change, or legal and operational requirements develop.
When this policy is updated, the date shown at the top of the page will be revised. Material changes may also be communicated through the platform where appropriate.
